The Boathouse - Orlando, Florida
This weeks gem takes us south to Main Street USA, Orlando, Florida. The Boathouse opened just five days ago in Downtown Disney. The diverse menu ranged from Anastasia Gold Caviar to Coconut Frog Legs. With no shortage of options, and the Summer of Tuna quickly approaching I decided to play it a little more conservative, opting for their Coriander Seared Tuna. The dish arrived with an enormous slab of Tuna split down the middle. The perfect 1/4th inch sear inside of the peppery crust was all this bad boy needed. It was clear that they used the touch and go method for searing tuna. Served beneath the purple portions was a refreshing soba noodle salad with julienned carrots. The garnishes included a dollop of wasabi mayo and srirachi hot sauce. I complemented the meal with a couple of my favorite beers, Dogfish Head’s 60 Minute IPA. With dishes such as these there is no question the Boathouse will establish themselves as one of the finer seafood establishments in the Orlando area.
